Museum of the Future

The Museum of the Future, situated prominently along Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road, stands as one of the city’s renowned landmarks. Established by the Dubai Future Foundation and inaugurated on February 22, 2022, this museum delves into the potential evolution of society in the upcoming decades through the lens of science and technology.

Referred to as a ‘living museum,’ it seamlessly blends traditional exhibitions, immersive theater, and themed attractions, offering visitors a glimpse into the boundless possibilities of the future. Beyond its local impact, the museum serves as the hub for the city’s ‘Great Arab Minds’ initiative, dedicated to identifying 1,000 outstanding Arab talents across various fields.

Architected by Shaun Killa, the Museum of the Future features an asymmetrical torus structure clad in steel and glass, earning recognition from National Geographic as one of the world’s 14 most beautiful museums. The exterior is adorned with Arabic calligraphy, functioning as both artistic expression and functional glass windows. Crafted by Emirati artist Mattar bin Lahej, these calligraphic elements showcase inspirational poetry by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, emphasizing themes of envisioning, designing, and creating the future.

The museum experience is organized into five chapters, each exploring different facets of the future, from life on a space station in OSS Hope to a view of Dubai and the world in 2071 at The Heal Institute. Visitors can engage with groundbreaking technologies, participate in interactive play spaces at Future Heroes, and explore topics like space travel, climate change, health, and wellness. Special workshops and talks from global thought leaders are also integral to the museum’s offerings.

For children aged three to 10, the Future Heroes environment provides an open-world experience designed to nurture their potential. Additionally, the viewing deck on level two offers a unique perspective of the museum’s inner shell and panoramic views of Dubai’s bustling urban center.

Tickets for the Museum of the Future are priced at AED149 and can be booked through the official website or the provided Book Now button. Timed entry slots are available, and visitors are advised to arrive 15-30 minutes before their chosen time. The museum operates from 10 am to 9:30 pm daily, with the last entry at 7:30 pm.
